In a bid to address the recent controversy surrounding the sale of IPL tickets in black outside the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Apex Council of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has made some crucial decisions. The Apex Council, which is the governing body of the DDCA, has decided that none of its committee members shall accept complimentary passes, a move aimed at reducing the perception of corruption and favoritism within the association.
According to a press release issued by DDCA Director Shyam Sharma, the proposal to restrict complimentary passes was made by President Rohan Jaitley, who suggested that this be made a matter of practice for the Apex Council members. The proposal was accepted by a majority of the members, indicating a growing awareness within the association about the need to address the image crisis. However, the general members of the DDCA, who pay an annual fee, will still be entitled to two complimentary tickets. This move is seen as a way to balance the need to maintain the association's relationships with its members while still conveying the message that complimentary passes will no longer be taken for granted by the Apex Council members.
