Noida, Uttar Pradesh – Sunday turned out to be a special day for cricket lovers in the city. In a popular local cricket tournament held here, the ‘Cricket Lovers’ team secured the trophy after a gripping final match. The tournament spanned 15 days, featuring teams from across the city. In the final, the ‘Cricket Lovers’ team defeated their opponents, ‘Speed Stars’, in a closely contested match. The event took place at the G.B. Nagar Sports Complex, where a large crowd enjoyed the game.
Organisers of the tournament revealed that this edition saw participation from 16 teams, with four advancing to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, ‘Cricket Lovers’ defeated ‘Young Champions’ by 32 runs, while ‘Speed Stars’ overcame ‘Power Hitters’ by 15 runs. Tossing the coin in the final, ‘Speed Stars’ elected to bat first. They posted a total of 158 runs in their 20 overs, with their captain, Ankit Sharma, scoring a crucial 52. In response, the ‘Cricket Lovers’ team delivered an impressive performance, reaching the target in just 18.4 overs. Rahul Kumar top-scored with 45 runs, while Mohit Gupta took three wickets, playing a key role in the victory.
