In Gautam Buddh Nagar, the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Vijay Singh was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Sector 11. On this occasion, local administration, school management, and dignitaries gathered to pay homage to his memory. The event began at 9 AM with a Saraswati Vandana. Dr. R.P. Singh, the principal of the school, highlighted the life struggles and contributions of freedom fighter Vijay Singh to the nation. He shared that Vijay Singh was born on August 15, 1923, in a small village in Gautam Buddh Nagar and had joined the freedom movement at the tender age of 18.
Former MLA Mrs. Rekha Tyagi was the chief guest at the event. In her address, she said, “Freedom fighters like Vijay Singh are a source of inspiration for us. He sacrificed his life for the country’s independence. We must keep his ideals alive.” Following this, students of the school performed a play based on Vijay Singh’s life, depicting his struggles and sacrifices. Through the play, the audience was introduced to various aspects of his life.
