New Delhi, May 24 — Norway Chess 2026 marks a historic return to Oslo after 13 years in Stavanger, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated chess events of the year. The tournament, running from May 25 to June 6, features a grueling 12-day double round-robin format with two rest days, offering fans a packed schedule of high-stakes clashes. This year’s edition is particularly significant as it will not feature World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in the classical format, as he has already competed and won the TePe Sigeman Chess Tournament in Malmö earlier this month. However, his absence leaves the spotlight firmly on India’s rising stars, who are under immense pressure to deliver.
