Visakhapatnam, May 24, 2026 – The Union Public Service Commission’s Civil Services Preliminary Examination for 2026 was conducted across 17 centres in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, with attendance exceeding 60% in both sessions. A total of 7,763 candidates had registered for the examination, which was held in two separate sessions: Paper I from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Paper II from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Official figures showed that 4,755 candidates attended the morning session, while 3,008 were absent, resulting in an attendance rate of 61.25%. In the afternoon session, 4,696 candidates appeared, with 3,067 absent, bringing the attendance to 60.49%. Despite the high registration numbers, over 3,000 candidates did not appear in each session, reflecting a consistent trend of partial participation across the day.
