Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated a 13-km stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail Corridor, known as the Namo Bharat Corridor. During the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi emphasised the project’s significance, stating that it will provide people with faster and more comfortable travel.
The first phase of the Rapid Rail Corridor extends from Sahibabad in Delhi to Ghaziabad, covering a distance of 13 km and including five stations. The entire project is expected to span 82 km, with the initial 13 km now operational. The corridor is designed to operate at a speed of 180 km/h, making it India’s fastest rapid rail service.
The inauguration ceremony of the first phase was attended by several dignitaries and government officials, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who described the project as a boon for the people of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
