Kolkata mein Sunday ko bade scale par political violence dekhne ko mili jab Trinamool Congress (TMC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), aur Left Front ke workers ke beech multiple localities mein jhagde phoot padhe. Sabse zyada intense confrontations Jadavpur, Behala, aur Rajarhat se report hue, jahan rival parties ke supporters ne ek doosre par hathapayi ki aur crude objects (kaththi, patthar, etc.) phenke. Iske baad heavy police deployment ki gayi taake order restore ho sake.
Official sources ke hisaab se violence Sunday ki subah hi shuru ho gayi jab ek local TMC leader ki motorcade par allegedly attack hua Jadavpur mein. Badle mein, TMC workers ne BJP aur Left Front ke members ki property ko vandalize kiya.
