Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh – The administration and police in Prayagraj district have taken strict measures to curb illegal mining. In a recent large-scale operation, officials seized 102 vehicles and collected over ₹41 lakh in revenue. This action is part of the state government’s anti-illegal mining campaign aimed at strengthening environmental protection and law and order.
During the operation, joint teams of administrative and police officials conducted raids in various areas of Prayagraj. Authorities reported that the seized vehicles were being used to transport illegally mined minerals. The impounded vehicles included trucks, tippers, and other transport mediums involved in illegal mining activities. Additionally, officials collected fines from those involved, pushing the total revenue collected to over ₹41 lakh.
A senior district administration official stated that illegal mining not only violates the law but also causes severe environmental damage. He said, “Our campaign will continue, and strict vigilance will be maintained against all such illegal activities.” Police officials also emphasized that such actions will instill a sense of law-abiding behavior among the public.
