New Delhi, June 14: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to arrive in Chennai on Sunday, June 16, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, scheduled for Monday. The development comes after the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) retained power in the state following the recent assembly elections, securing a second consecutive term under Stalin’s leadership.
Rahul Gandhi, a former Congress president and Member of Parliament from Waynad, Kerala, will be present at the oath-taking event at the Raj Bhavan in Chennai. His participation has drawn attention as it reflects ongoing political engagement and alliance-building efforts between the Congress and regional parties ahead of the 2024 general elections. The Congress has been actively seeking to strengthen ties with non-BJP, non-Congress parties to form a broader opposition coalition.
