In a village under the Bhilwara police station in Udaipur district, Rajasthan, a gruesome incident took place on Saturday night where a young man’s nose was allegedly cut off for marrying the woman he loved. According to local sources, the victim, Amit Meghwal (28), had fallen in love with a local woman a few months ago and later married her. However, her family refused to accept the marriage and began threatening Amit, culminating in the horrific act of cutting off his nose.
Police sources revealed that after Amit’s wife fled with him, her family became enraged. They forcibly took him from his home and allegedly severed his nose. Following the incident, Amit received medical treatment at a local hospital. Based on his complaint, the police have arrested three individuals—his brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and a relative.
The police have assured that Amit’s wife is currently in a safe location, and arrangements have been made for her protection. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to arrest more accused persons. The Udaipur district collector and superintendent of police have termed the incident extremely serious and have assured swift justice.
