The gold deposit was found during geological surveys in Banswara district. It is estimated that around 2.7 tonnes of gold can be extracted from this mine. This is more than India's current annual gold production. Currently, India produces only about 1.5 tonnes of gold per year.
This discovery is expected to reduce India's dependence on gold imports and increase domestic gold production. Officials have stated that this could also help control gold prices. Additionally, it is estimated that around 5,000 jobs will be created through this mine.
