The event began with artistes playing Krishna welcoming devotees, recounting the mythological significance of Rasaleela, and explaining the importance of the day’s programme. This was followed by a meticulously crafted portrayal of Rukmini’s swayamvara (self-choice ceremony) and Krishna’s victory in marrying her, brought to life on stage. The elaborate costumes worn by the artistes and the traditional instruments used added grandeur to the performance.
