Jamaican-American reggae icon Orville Richard Burrell, popularly known as Shaggy, has won two Grammy Awards and released over three decades of chart-topping music. Now, fresh off his latest album *Lottery*, the 56-year-old artist shows no signs of stepping away from the spotlight. In a recent interview with *Mid-Day*, Shaggy opened up about his creative drive, his deep fascination with Indian music, and a candid fan moment involving a certain Punjabi superstar he spotted on *The Tonight Show*.
When asked if it becomes harder to maintain creative energy after so many years in the music industry, Shaggy responded with characteristic directness. “First of all, I am allergic to boredom,” he said. “Secondly, it's what I do. You don't want to see me kick a ball (laughs). [Music is] what I'm passionate about doing.” He acknowledged that the biggest challenge now is finding fresh inspiration, admitting, “The hardest thing at this stage is finding inspiration because everything you say, I've pretty much done already.” Yet, he emphasized that his passion keeps him going: “But what keeps me going is that I'm still in and I can listen to what is going on.”
