New Delhi, 17 June 2025: Home sales in India’s 75 major cities registered a 16 % year-on-year increase in value during FY2025-26, even as the number of units sold slipped by a marginal 1 %, according to data released on Monday by Liases Foras, a real-estate rating and research organisation. The annual report shows that 719,029 homes changed hands in FY2024-25, compared with 709,793 units in FY2025-26. Yet the aggregate value of these transactions climbed to ₹9,32,965 crore from ₹9,32,965 crore in the previous year.
New supply also rose. Liases Foras reports that developers launched 620,842 new units across the 75 cities in FY2025-26, up 10 % from 564,402 units a year earlier. The unsold stock consequently swelled by 13 % to nearly 1.2 million units. Despite economic headwinds, the housing market has remained broadly stable, with new launches continuing their upward trend.
