A devastating road accident occurred on a busy Kolkata road on Tuesday morning. A trailer, having lost control, ploughed through at least 25 vehicles in succession. Initially, it was learnt that the trailer’s driver had lost control of the vehicle at the time of the accident. As a result, the trailer veered in the opposite direction, colliding with vehicle after vehicle. Several cars were completely damaged in the incident, and a few people were injured.
According to police sources, the incident took place on a busy road in the B.B.D. Bagh area of Kolkata. The trailer lost control around 9 a.m. Local residents reported that the trailer was hurtling forward at high speed when it suddenly swerved in the opposite direction. This caused it to collide with the vehicles in front, damaging them. Police and fire brigade teams reached the spot quickly. They rescued the injured from the damaged vehicles and rushed them to nearby hospitals.
