New Delhi: A tragic incident was reported in Delhi’s Rohini area on Tuesday morning, where a worker fell into a manhole under the jurisdiction of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and died. As soon as the incident came to light, questions arose over accountability between local police and DDA officials. While the worker’s identity has not yet been made public, the police have not yet filed a case against anyone, sparking outrage among locals.
Speaking about the incident, police officials stated that it occurred around 6:30 AM in a construction site located in Rohini Sector 24. The worker fell into an open manhole while working and was pulled out, but he died on the spot. The police inspected the site and initiated the process of registering a First Information Report (FIR), but no arrests have been made so far. Local residents allege that the DDA failed to cover the manhole securely, leading to the accident.
