A bizarre incident came to light in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday night when a youth, who had been involved in a road accident, was arrested by the police while fleeing. According to police officials, the youth had collided with a motorcyclist and then abandoned his bike to escape. The police pursued and apprehended him.
During the arrest, the police recovered a pistol, 10 cartridges, and a knife from the youth. The arrested individual has been identified as Rahul Gupta (22), a resident of the Govindnagar area in Kanpur. The police stated that Rahul had threatened to use the weapons to evade capture, but he was taken into custody without any confrontation.
Kanpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinita Kumar Shukla stated that the incident occurred around 10 PM on Saraswati Marg in Kanpur. Rahul had collided with a motorcyclist and then attempted to flee on foot after abandoning his bike. The police chased and caught him, recovering the pistol, cartridges, and knife from his possession.
