The event, organized under the aegis of the Surfing Federation of India and supported by the Karnataka government and the Karnataka Surfing Association, witnessed fierce competition across multiple categories, culminating in Tamil Nadu surfers Kishore Kumar and Kamali Moorthy securing the coveted Men’s and Women’s Open titles, respectively.
Kishore Kumar emerged victorious in the Men’s Open category with a final score of 15.20, fending off strong challenges from Ramesh Budihal (12.87) and Sivaraj Babu (11.90). Srikanth D. rounded out the top four with a score of 9.93. Speaking after his win, Kumar expressed his ambition to represent India at the upcoming Asian Games, emphasizing the importance of national representation in the sport. His victory marked a significant milestone in his surfing career and added to the growing recognition of Indian surfers on the international stage.
