NEW DELHI: United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that the Indian government did not raise any concerns regarding Pakistan’s reported role as a mediator in the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, despite India’s long-standing worries about terrorist groups operating from Pakistani territory.
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Monday, Rubio responded to a question about whether India had expressed reservations over Pakistan facilitating backchannel communications between the US and Iran. He acknowledged that India has consistently highlighted the threat posed by armed terrorist groups based in Pakistan, which target Indian interests.
