Students from different parts of Bihar met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to demand the issuance of a notification for the restoration of TRE-4 (Teacher Recruitment Exam-4) posts. Having waited for the notification for two years, the students strongly reiterated their demand. During the meeting, the students told the CM, “Sir, please do something now. We have been waiting for the notification for two years.”
The TRE-4 examination was conducted in 2022, and candidates who cleared it were eligible for teaching positions in government schools. However, with the state government yet to release the notification for these posts, over 15,000 candidates remain in employment limbo. The delay has had a severe impact on their careers and livelihoods, they said.
The students’ representatives also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister. The memorandum stated, “The government must fulfill its promise by providing posts to the TRE-4 qualified candidates. This delay is unjust, and an immediate solution must be found.” Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assured the students that he would listen to their concerns and take appropriate action.
