According to sources, the police team, acting on specific intelligence, raided a house in the Rajganj area on the evening of May 10, 2024. During the search, they recovered several bottles of a banned cough syrup formulation. The arrested individuals, identified as 32-year-old Ramesh Das and 28-year-old Suresh Oraon, both residents of Rajganj, were found in possession of the contraband. Police have stated that the cough syrup contained codeine, a controlled substance that falls under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, making its sale and possession illegal without proper authorization.
