A massive explosion occurred at a plastic recycling factory in Mavali village, Udaipur district, on Friday (June 7, 2024) around 6:30 PM. The blast resulted in the deaths of two workers and left another worker critically injured. The deceased have been identified as Rajesh Kumar (32) and Amit Sharma (28), according to local police officials.
While the exact cause of the explosion remains unclear, the factory owner and local authorities are investigating the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest the blast may have been caused by a chemical mixture used in the plastic recycling process. The intensity of the explosion caused significant damage to parts of the factory, and the sound of the blast was heard several kilometers away, leaving locals in shock.
Speaking about the incident, factory owner Ram Niwas Goyal (45) said, “We were following all safety protocols. However, such accidents are unpredictable. We transported the injured to the hospital with the help of police and fire department personnel. The condition of the injured worker is critical, and he has been admitted to the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Udaipur.”
