Two separate incidents in Maharashtra’s Nagpur and Nashik have come to light, revealing disturbing developments. In Nagpur, the collapse of a water tank claimed three lives, while in Nashik, police arrested two teenagers after seizing ₹40,000 worth of mephedrone.
In Nagpur’s Ashok Nagar area, the rupture of a large water tank led to widespread flooding in the surrounding neighbourhood. The incident resulted in three fatalities and several injuries. Local authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the tank’s failure, though preliminary investigations point to its outdated and weakened structure as a possible factor. Following the incident, the administration has arranged for drainage in the affected areas and announced relief measures for the families of the victims.
Meanwhile, in Nashik, police conducted a major operation and arrested two teenagers after recovering ₹40,000 worth of mephedrone. According to authorities, the youths were detained near a roadside and the drug was seized from them. A case has been registered against the arrested teenagers under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police have warned that mephedrone is a dangerous substance whose consumption can severely harm the health of young people.
