Two people, including an Indian-origin newlywed, died in a helicopter crash in Georgia, USA, on Friday night. The third person involved, the bride Jesny Robinson, was severely injured and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Atlanta. According to American media reports, the crash occurred in an R66 helicopter piloted by Nikhil Nargundkar. The newlywed couple had boarded the helicopter after their wedding to travel to the Dekalb-Peachtree Airport, but it crashed shortly after takeoff due to bad weather.
As reported by Atlanta News First, the accident took place near the wedding venue in Dawsonville. The 26-year-old groom, Dave Fiji, and pilot Nargundkar died in the crash, while the 25-year-old bride, Jesny, suffered serious injuries. The crash site was in a dense forest, which delayed the rescue team's efforts to locate the helicopter. Jesny was trapped in the wreckage for nearly six hours before being rescued. She saw her husband Dave in her arms, whose body had already gone cold. A nurse by profession, Jesny immediately realized that Dave had passed away. She sustained minor injuries and bruises but no broken bones. Currently hospitalized and recovering slowly, she is deeply traumatized by the tragedy.
