A fresh crisis looms over the family of Asad, the main accused in the high-profile Surya murder case, after his encounter in Ghaziabad’s Khoda police station area. The administration has pasted a demolition notice on the accused’s house, leaving the entire family trembling in fear of losing their home. Relatives of Asad have now appealed to the police and the government, hands folded, pleading that the family should not be punished for his crimes and that their shelter not be razed.
Asad’s family claims that he has already been punished for his crime through the police encounter. Yet, ever since the administrative notice was pasted on their home, women and children have been gripped by deep dread. Asad’s uncle, Abid, broke down in front of the media and administration, pleading, “Asad has paid for his wrongdoing. But the rest of us and these innocent children are not at fault for his crime. Don’t make us homeless; this is our only support.”
