Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh – A fire broke out in a residential apartment in Ghaziabad’s Sanjay Nagar area on Thursday evening, resulting in the tragic death of three dogs and the rescue of several others, according to local fire department officials.
The fire was reported around 6:30 PM at a multi-storeyed apartment complex. Eyewitnesses stated that thick smoke and flames engulfed the third floor of the building, prompting residents to evacuate immediately. Firefighters from the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation and the Uttar Pradesh Fire Service rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control within an hour. However, the fire caused significant damage to the apartment’s interior, including furniture and electrical fittings.
While no human casualties were reported, three dogs perished in the fire. Animal welfare volunteers and local residents worked alongside firefighters to rescue several other pets trapped inside the building. “We received multiple calls about pets being trapped. Our teams coordinated with volunteers to safely evacuate as many animals as possible,” said a senior fire officer.
