Road and drain construction work has recently begun at Chandi Prasad Lane in Ward 20 of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The project aims to address long-standing issues with the road and sewerage system, which have plagued local residents. According to BBMP officials, the work is expected to be completed soon, improving the quality of life for residents.
The road at Chandi Prasad Lane has been in poor condition for many years. During the monsoon season, it has been prone to collapsing and waterlogging, causing significant inconvenience to locals. Additionally, the lack of a proper drainage system has led to stagnant sewage around homes, contributing to environmental pollution. In light of these issues, the BBMP has undertaken this project.
According to BBMP sources, the road and drain construction work will span approximately 1.5 kilometers. A total of ₹5 crore has been sanctioned for the project. The work is estimated to take around six months to complete. Officials from the BBMP’s Engineering Department will oversee the project.
