Bengaluru, hailed as India’s most modern and technologically advanced city, is known for its IT hub, career opportunities, and lifestyle. But beneath this glitter lies a harsh truth—this city is exorbitantly expensive. It’s not just rent, groceries, or education that are burning holes in people’s pockets; even routine domestic services are costing residents a pretty penny.
A recent social media post has amplified this concern. A user shared that the cost of ironing clothes in Bengaluru is now more than double what it is in cities like Noida.
The issue surfaced on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). A user named Sajeet Pai posted that since moving to Bengaluru, he has been shelling out significantly more for ironing his clothes. He revealed that in Noida, he used to pay just ₹5 per garment for ironing. In Bengaluru, however, prices have surged to ₹12–₹20 per piece in many areas, with upscale localities like Indiranagar charging even more. “I knew Bengaluru was expensive, but I didn’t expect such a stark difference in ironing costs,” he wrote.
