Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has disbursed scholarships totaling ₹102 crore to 1,147 high-achieving students from rural government schools through its flagship Support the Advancement of Rural Students (STARS) initiative, since the program’s launch in 2008. This milestone was announced by VIT’s founder and Chancellor, G. Viswanathan, during the STARS Day celebration held at the VIT campus in Vellore on Sunday.
