Kolkata, 13 August 2024: Following the transfer of political power in West Bengal, newly elected Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari took the oath of office and secrecy at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan today. The swearing-in ceremony was administered by Governor C.V. Ananda Bose. Earlier, the results of the state assembly elections had granted a majority to the party led by Shubhendu Adhikari, paving the way for him to assume charge of the state.
Immediately after taking the oath, Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari held a crucial meeting with the state’s Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP). The discussion during the meeting focused on key issues related to administrative setup, law and order, and the state’s development. According to sources, special emphasis was placed on measures to maintain peace and security in the state. Additionally, administrative officials were directed to take necessary steps to expedite developmental works in the state.
