Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday asserted that the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal were a clear mandate in favor of the ‘SIR’ (Shashtra, Seva, Sanskar, and Rashtra) model championed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while simultaneously rejecting the politics of infiltration and appeasement associated with the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Shah emphasized that voters across West Bengal had decisively chosen a development-oriented agenda over what he described as a culture of "infiltration and vote-bank politics." He stated that the BJP’s performance in the state—despite being the principal opposition—was a reflection of the public’s confidence in its vision of nationalism, social harmony, and strong governance.
