Bengaluru, May 24: P. Shroff-trained Zuccaro, ridden by G. Vivek, clinched victory in the feature event of the day—the H.H. Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Cup (1,400m)—at the Bengaluru racecourse on Sunday. The winning horse is owned by a consortium led by Five Stars Shipping Co Pvt Ltd, represented by Mr. K.N. Dhunjibhoy, Mr. Z.K. Dhunjibhoy, Ms. Anosha Meyers, Mr. Vispi R. Patel, Mr. A.S. Narielwalla, Mr. Eruch Adi Mody, Ms. Anita J. Captain, Mr. Dinshaw P. Adenwalla, and Mrs. Jasmine D. Adenwalla.
The race, run over 1,400 metres, saw Zuccaro finish 2¼ lengths ahead of second-placed Siege Courageous (Trevor) with Knotty Charmer (Antony) and Galahad (Akshay K) completing the top four. The winning time was 1 minute 24.11 seconds. The prize distribution included ₹28 lakh for the winner, ₹15 lakh for second, ₹11 lakh for third, and ₹19 lakh for fourth, with additional payouts in exacta and trinella bets. Zuccaro was the second favourite at the betting window.
