Indefinite Strike in Aurangabad from June 5: Bank Employees Demand 12th Pay Commission and Promotions

Aurangabad, June 3, 2024 – Bank employees in Aurangabad have escalated their agitation over pending demands for the 12th pay commission and promotions into an indefinite strike. Local bank employee unions have announced an indefinite strike starting Monday, June 5. The decision follows long-standing frustration among employees over the government and bank management’s indifference to their unresolved demands.

According to bank employees, the demand for the 12th pay commission has been pending for several years, while issues like promotions and job security have also weighed heavily on their minds. Rakesh Sharma, president of the local bank employees’ union, stated that the strike aims not only to secure the 12th pay commission but also to ensure other rights of bank employees. He said, “If our demands are not met, we will have no choice but to proceed with an indefinite strike.”
