New Delhi, May 27, 2024 – The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has announced a complete halt in water supply to half of the city today. The board attributed the decision to a technical glitch in the water supply system. To prevent a drop in pressure in the main pipelines supplying water to affected areas, this step has been taken. While officials have assured that the situation will normalize soon, water supply in certain areas will remain disrupted for now.
According to the DJB, water supply will be cut off in the northern, southern, and western zones of the city today, i.e., May 27. Major areas falling under the affected zones include Rohini, Uttam Nagar, Janakpuri, Punjabi Bagh, Vasant Vihar, Dilshad Garden, and Laxmi Nagar. The board has urged residents to use stored water judiciously. Additionally, a revised water supply schedule has been released for the next two days. Water supply will remain suspended from 6 AM to 6 PM on May 28 and from 6 AM to 10 PM on May 29.
