New Delhi, May 28, 2026: Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a juvenile for allegedly firing at a 17-year-old boy from point-blank range in Amar Colony late Tuesday evening. The accused, who has been identified as a minor, was picked up from his residence in south-east Delhi on Wednesday, police sources confirmed. The shooting occurred outside a restaurant where the victim was eating with friends, marking another violent incident in the national capital’s crowded residential pockets.
According to the Crime Branch officer, the altercation began when the accused and two of his associates passed by the victim’s chair inside the eatery. An exchange of words followed, after which the accused left the scene but returned within minutes armed with a firearm. He reportedly fired a single shot at the victim from close proximity before fleeing the spot. The injured teenager was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre, where doctors described his condition as critical. He is currently under intensive care, and the medical team is closely monitoring his vital signs.
