The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a maximum temperature of 42°C in Aurangabad district, Karnataka, today. Consequently, an orange alert (heatwave warning) has been issued. According to officials, the peak temperature is expected to be reached by midday, which could disrupt daily activities for residents.
Residents have been advised to take extra precautions as the mercury is likely to soar to 42°C. An IMD spokesperson stated, “The temperature is expected to peak by midday, increasing the risk of dehydration and heat stress. People should drink plenty of water and limit outdoor activities during peak hours.”
Due to the orange alert, schools and public institutions in Aurangabad have been directed to implement additional safety measures. Authorities have urged schoolchildren and senior citizens to exercise extreme caution. Farmers engaged in agricultural activities have been advised to ensure adequate irrigation for their crops.
Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted that the high temperatures will persist for the next three days. Residents have been advised to remain vigilant and follow government guidelines during this period.
