A 32-year-old IT professional from Kodagu, Hosoklu Roshan Balakrishna, died tragically after being struck by lightning while plucking mangoes on his agricultural land in Yelwala, near Mysuru, on Tuesday. Roshan, the son of the late Hosoklu Balakrishna from Heravanad village in Madikeri, had recently resigned from his IT job and was actively involved in modern farming practices alongside a colleague. He was accompanied by his wife and son when they stopped to visit their property. While Roshan went to pluck mangoes, he was struck by lightning and collapsed on the spot. Another person who was with him sustained injuries but managed to escape unharmed. The funeral was held in Heravanad, where Roshan is survived by his wife and a young son.
