The Union Health Ministry on Friday convened a high-level virtual review meeting with West Bengal, releasing ₹527.58 crore as the first tranche of the state’s ₹3,505.59 crore National Health Mission (NHM) allocation for 2026-27. The meeting, chaired by Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and attended by West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, focused on accelerating key public health initiatives including Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), HPV vaccination, and the national TB elimination drive.
