New Delhi, May 25: A Delhi court has acquitted Sujeet, a man accused of participating in a 2021 firing incident in Badarpur that left a head constable and a civilian injured. Additional Sessions Judge Sheetal Chaudhary Pradhan ruled that the prosecution failed to establish Sujeet’s presence at the scene or his involvement in the crime.
The incident occurred on November 6, 2021, when police responded to a quarrel and were allegedly fired upon by a group that included juveniles. Sujeet was arrested and charged with attempt to murder, obstructing a public servant, and assaulting law enforcement personnel. However, the court found critical gaps in the prosecution’s case.
