The Idukki District Congress Committee (DCC) president, C.P. Mathew, has announced that the Congress party will demand a fresh probe into the murder of Students' Federation of India (SFI) activist Dheeraj Rajendran, who was stabbed to death on January 10, 2022, at the Government Engineering College in Painavu, Idukki. Mathew made this statement during a media briefing in Idukki, where he also defended his decision to nominate Nikhil Paily, the prime accused in the case, to the DCC.
