In Devaragundi Sagara district, the Collector has intensified action against road encroachments. A total of 437 encroachments have been identified and ordered for removal along NHAI and PWD-maintained roads stretching from Devaragundi to Kaya in the district. Of these, 370 encroachments are on NHAI roads, while 67 are on PWD roads. This decision was taken during a public coordination meeting.
Collector Dr. C. S. Mohan Kumar, who attended the meeting, emphasized the government’s strict stance on road encroachment removal. He stated, “Roads are reserved for public use, and no individual or organization is permitted to encroach upon them. There will be no leniency in the removal process.” He has directed the concerned departments to commence action promptly and clear encroachments as per the law.
Though multiple encroachment removal drives have been conducted earlier on the Devaragundi-Kaya road, encroachments have resurfaced, prompting the Collector to order stricter measures. This action is deemed necessary for the safety and convenience of local residents and road users. The Collector has made it clear that no politician or influential person will be allowed to interfere in the encroachment removal process.
