The mother of a 10-year-old girl, who was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered in Coimbatore, has accused her husband of forcibly taking the child’s body to Salem, cremating it without her consent, and denying her the chance to see her daughter’s mortal remains. Speaking to reporters in Coimbatore on Sunday evening (May 24, 2026), the woman said she refused to accept the body until “justice is served,” but officials released it from the morgue in Coimbatore after obtaining her husband’s signature.
