The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken a historic step by announcing an all-female panel of match officials for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, continuing a trend started in previous editions. The marquee tournament, set to be hosted by England and Wales from June 12, will feature 14 umpires and four match referees overseeing 33 matches across the competition. This marks the third consecutive Women’s T20 World Cup to be officiated exclusively by women, reinforcing the ICC’s commitment to gender representation in cricket.
Among the new additions to the officiating panel are Candace La Borde, Gayathri Venugopalan, Kerrin Klaaste, and Shathira Jakir Jesy, all of whom will make their debut as Women’s T20 World Cup officials this year. Veteran Australian umpire Claire Polosak will lead the panel, preparing for her sixth consecutive Women’s T20 World Cup appearance. Polosak, the most experienced official in the group, has officiated in 22 matches across previous editions, making her a cornerstone of the tournament’s umpiring standards.
