Guwahati, May 25, 2026: The Assam government on Monday introduced the , in the state Assembly, marking a significant legislative move weeks after the formation of the third consecutive NDA government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Bill was tabled by Parliamentary Affairs Minister on behalf of the Chief Minister, during the third day of the first session of the newly elected 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly.
