A tragic road accident occurred in Pune’s Kakadeo area on Monday evening, claiming the life of a sales manager. According to reports, the accident happened when a bike rider lost control while trying to save a scooter rider. Police officials stated that the incident took place around 6 PM near the Kakadeo chowk, where sales manager Vinayak Deshpande (38) was returning from his office in Fazalgunj.
Locals reported that the scooter rider was a woman who was speeding and suddenly appeared in front of the bike. Vinayak Deshpande, the sales manager, immediately applied the brakes, but his bike skidded and he fell. In the process, his bike veered toward the scooter rider, prompting Vinayak to throw himself in front of it to save her. Both were critically injured in the attempt. Bystanders rushed them to the hospital, where Vinayak Deshpande was declared dead, while the scooter rider—a woman—remains hospitalized in critical condition.
