Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh – The ongoing household survey in Kanpur city is facing hurdles as enumerators struggle to locate homes and lanes due to unclear or missing addresses. This issue is disrupting the survey process, prompting authorities to address the matter urgently.
According to information gathered from local residents and enumerators, the absence of clearly marked house or lane numbers is making it difficult for surveyors to find the correct locations. The problem is particularly acute in densely populated older areas such as Nagar Mahal, Govindnagar, and Kakori. One enumerator shared that they often spend half a day wandering in the same locality, wasting both time and energy.
Authorities have assured that they are working to resolve the issue promptly. A senior official from the Kanpur Municipal Corporation stated that they are collaborating with local ward members and residents to improve house numbering and naming systems. Additionally, efforts are underway to leverage digital platforms to make it easier to trace the locations of homes.
