Kalaburagi, May 28: A coalition of social and political organizations in Karnataka has called for a statewide protest on Saturday under the banner *Karnataka Pratirodha* (Karnataka Resistance) against the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The protest, organized by the *SIR Virodhi Jatyatita Pakshagalu–Janapara Sanghatanegala Okkuta* (Alliance Against Special Intensive Revision of Caste-Neutral Mass Organizations), targets what they describe as a flawed and exclusionary voter verification process that could strip many eligible citizens of their voting rights.
