A 24-year-old from Lucknow has made a name for herself in the triathlon circuit by winning three gold medals at a state-level competition. The athlete, who goes by the name Anamika, hails from the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Over the weekend, she competed in a state-level triathlon and secured first place in all three segments of the women’s category.
A triathlon consists of swimming, cycling, and running segments. Anamika demonstrated exceptional skill across all three stages, completing the entire race in 2 hours and 15 minutes. In the first leg—a 1.5 km swim—she finished in 20 minutes and 30 seconds, taking an early lead. She then cycled 40 km in 1 hour and 5 minutes, solidifying her position. In the final 10 km run, she completed the distance in 45 minutes and 20 seconds, securing the overall top spot.
Anamika’s journey to the top wasn’t easy. Though she had always been interested in sports since her teenage years, a lack of proper training and opportunities forced her to set aside her dreams. In 2022, with encouragement from her father, she resumed her athletic training. During this period, she dedicated five hours daily to practice, steadily improving her performance. Her coach, Prakash Singh, has been instrumental in her success, praising her hard work and dedication.
