Meerut, Uttar Pradesh – A life-threatening attack on a prominent sports trader came to light in the city on Monday. Police officials said the incident occurred in the evening as the victim was leaving his business establishment. The attackers struck him with sharp-edged weapons, leaving him seriously injured.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered at a local police station around 7 PM. The FIR details the time, location, and injuries sustained by the victim, along with charges against the suspected attackers. The Superintendent of Police stated that immediate instructions have been given to expedite the investigation, and efforts are underway to identify the attackers using CCTV footage. He added that the victim’s condition remains critical and he has been hospitalized.
A police team was present at the crime scene, securing evidence. According to police sources, the sports trader is connected to the local sports business, and the attack may have been orchestrated by business rivals, though this has not yet been confirmed. The police have launched a thorough investigation, and it is suspected that key suspects may be arrested soon.
