However, the threat of heatstroke remains high following relentless heatwave conditions over the past 72 hours. According to the weather department, scorching sunshine and hot winds have disrupted daily life, with markets seeing reduced footfall as people scramble to find ways to beat the heat.
Local authorities reported that temperatures soared above 45°C during Nautapa, making it difficult for people to venture outdoors. Meerut’s Civil Hospital has seen a rise in heatstroke cases, prompting doctors to urge residents to stay hydrated, wear light-colored clothing, and avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours.
